Thanks to everyone that made it out this year to the 4th Annual Fox Chase. August 18th, 2011 was the 2nd year a guy finished before the ladies. Congratulations to Adam Kne for being the first person to cross the finish line!
As always, all proceeds will be donated to Project HERO.
Results have been posted on the 2011 Results Tab.
That's right boys. We've added a twist to the traditional 5k. The guys start after the ladies. The first one (guy or girl) to cross the finish line is the winner. In 2008 and 2009 a girl crossed first, then in 2010 with a 3 minute head start, Kevin Bjerke was the winner of the 3rd Annual Fox Chase!
The Fox Chase has a mission to get everyone in the community out to exercise. Runners, joggers, and walkers are all welcome. It was so great to see all of the families out at last year's race! After the run/walk, there will be refreshments, fruit, and prizes.
Registration will be at the Scheels Arena between 5:30 and 6:30pm. After that, we'll head to the starting line where the race will begin; 7:00pm for the girls, and 7:03 for the guys. The 3.1 mile race will be run/walked in the Urban Plains Development finishing at the Scheels Arena. There, we will gather for some refreshments, awards, and really great door prizes.
As always, we are excited to announce that all proceeds benefit Project HERO. This non-profit organization serves as a clearinghouse for unused healthcare supplies and durable medical equipment by providing access to much needed healthcare materials to those in need. Visit their website at www.fmhero.org There will be drop boxes at the race for any medical equipment that you would like to donate to Project HERO.
That's the take on the Fox Chase 5k. So, take a look at the details, fill out a registration form, send it to some friends, and we'll see you August 18th, 2011 for the race.
Get ready to chase those foxes boys!
