Welcome to the Second Annual Fox Chase 5k Fun Run/Walk. Where the girls get a five minute headstart!

Picture
That's right boys. We've added a twist to the traditional 5k. The guys start 5 minutes after the ladies. The first one (guy or girl) to cross the finish line is the winner. We had a great turnout in 2008, and are expecting a bigger and better Fox Chase in 2009.

The Fox Chase has a mission to get everyone in the community out to exercise. Runners, joggers, and walkers are all welcome. After the race, there will be refreshments, fruit, and prizes. If you haven't been to the new Urban Plains Center (home of the Fargo Force) now's your chance.

Registration will be at the Urban Plains Center between 5:30 and 6:30pm. After that, we'll head to the starting line where the race will begin; 7:00pm for the girls, and 7:05pm for the guys. The 3.1 mile race will be run/walked in the new Urban Plains Development finishing at the UP Center. There, we will gather for awards, prizes, and good conversation.

We are excited to announce that all proceeds will be benefiting Project HERO. This non-profit organization serves as a clearinghouse for unused healthcare supplies and durable medical equipment by providing access to much needed healthcare materials to those in need. Visit their website at www.fmhero.org There will be drop boxes at the race for any medical equipment that you would like to donate to Project HERO.

That's the take on the Fox Chase 5k. So, take a look at the details, fill out a registration form, send it to some friends, and we'll see you August 20, 2009 for the race.

Get ready to chase those foxes boys!

The Fox Chase Committee

Thank you for all who participated in the 1st Annual Fox Chase. The night was a huge success, and all proceeds were donated to Project HERO.

Congratulations to Heather Smith who finished with a time of 20:21. Maybe a guy will be able to catch that lead girl in 2009.
